Lemongrass Tofu



This Lemongrass Tofu recipe is a vegan twist on a classic Vietnamese dish, packed with flavor and protein. The combination of lemongrass, garlic, and soy sauce creates a savory and aromatic marinade that infuses the tofu with vibrant taste. Quick to prepare and bursting with Vietnamese-inspired flavors, this dish is perfect for a delicious weeknight dinner.

Ingredients:

  • 300g firm tofu, pressed and cut into cubes
  • 2 stalks lemongrass, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or agave nectar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions:

In a bowl, mix soy sauce, maple syrup, sesame oil, and lime juice to make the marinade

Add tofu cubes to the marinade, coat well, and let it sit for 10 minutes

In a pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat

Add chopped lemongrass, garlic, and onion

Saut until fragrant

Add marinated tofu cubes to the pan

Cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tofu is golden brown and crispy

Season with salt and pepper to taste

Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving

Serve hot with rice or noodles
